Person: Sambuu Jamsran (1896–1972)


Description: Sambuu Jamsran was a diplomat, politician, and public figure during the Mongolian People's Republic. He was born into a family of nomadic herders and learned to read and write thanks to his father. From 1937 to 1946, he served as the ambassador of the Mongolian People's Republic to the Soviet Union.


In this position, during the Great Patriotic War (World War II), he played an important role in organizing the supply of food and aid from the Mongolian People's Republic to the USSR. From May 1954 to 1972, he worked as the Chairman of the People's Assembly of Mongolia.
